Behind the Scenes: For Any Woman Magazine

I have always been curious as to what happens behind the scenes of a magazine shoot so was extremely lucky to be invited to blog the latest "For Any Woman" magazine photo shoot. I was so excited to be given such an amazing opportunity to not only see what happens behind the scenes but to also meet some amazingly talented people.

"For Any Woman" magazine was founded by Datsa Gaile. Datsa is an extraordinary woman who has worked within media for many years. Using her previous knowledge of the industry she decided to produce a magazine which would focus on the successes of real women. The magazine then launched on Monday 15th July 2013 making it's vastly growing success an astonishing accomplishment!

"For Any Woman’s advocacy will focus on concerns and issues of being a woman in the 21st century. The website will highlight provocative and real stories of real women living in UK and different parts of the world."

The day of the shoot soon arrived, I anxiously counted down the hours until I too, would be on set of a photo shoot! I have been to a variety of fashion shows but never had the chance to sneak behind the scenes. On arrival to the shoot, with my trusty friend and accomplished makeup artist NJ Wells of Lipstick Vixens, we were kindly greeted by the lovely Madara Zakalovska who is the project leader of FAW magazine and  the talented Joel Oged who was the photographer. I  then had the honor of meeting the mastermind behind this fabulous magazine, Datsa Gaile and the also very talented Tony Smith who was the videographer and behind the scenes professional photographer.

Soon after we arrived, the models began to have their makeup done by NJ. I absolutely loved watching NJ do her magic on the beautiful models, she has a real talent! I then had the pleasure of meeting the lovely Ewilina Omachel-Dziedzic who was the hairdresser. Ewilina and NJ got to work on 4 models, all so beautiful and very sweet indeed.

The theme of the photo shoot had a great Autumn feel, it required a lot of leaves, vegetables, wellingtons and an umbrella... Each model took their turn to have individual shots taken wearing just a simple white vest, jeans and heels before having some group shots. It was apparent that having their hair and makeup professionally done had really bought out the greatest confidence in each of the girls.

For the next round of photographs, each model changed into a rain coat and wellingtons. This look was my favourite! Again, each model had some individual shots taken before combining for a group shot. This group shot produced some amazing pictures, as well as the cover photograph for the magazine!

After a few hours of watching the models getting ready, having their pictures taken and being a sneaky little  background snap taker, the crew and I gathered for a final group photo. I had been using my point and shoot camera to take shots all day so was excited to be able to hold Datsa's professional camera for this photograph, thanks Datsa!

The day soon came to an end, the time flew by! That's when you really know you've been having fun. Thinking back, this was one of the most amazing experiences! Waking up at 2:45am, travelling at 5am with the amazing NJ Wells, meeting an amazing team on the FAW shoot as well as the beautiful models! I want to say a huge thank you to For Any Woman Magazine for having me at their amazing shoot. I feel as though I learnt some new things as well as meeting some great people. I also want to thank NJ for picking me up and driving us all the way there and back, what a trooper!
