Estée Lauder Double Wear Foundation

Estée Lauder Double Wear Foundation has been all the rage for a few years now. I have read so many amazing reviews about this product and can't believe that it took me so long to try it out for myself!
As I have oily/combination type skin, I often have issues with certain foundations looking too oily on the skin as well as experiencing break outs or irritations. Due to this, I have learnt that it is best for me to first sample any face products before making a full purchase. A lot of people don't realise that most counters, if not all, allow or offer samples of certain products, especially foundations. Some counters will have small plastic pots which can be filled with your perfect match in order to test. Other counters may ask for you to bring your own, so it is always handy to carry a small travel pot in your bag when out shopping for new makeup.

Whilst at Boots, a few weeks ago, I decided to pick up a sample of Estée Lauder Double Wear Foundation. I was matched to the shade "Pebble" and received my sample in a generous sample pot. Once I arrived home, i swatched a small amount onto my hand. I was amazed at how little product was needed to cover a larger area. The foundation also blended so beautifully into my skin, leaving a slightly dewy finish.

The next morning, I was so excited to finally try the foundation on my skin. Out came my Real Techniques Buffing Brush which has been my current favourite for foundation application. I gently poured some foundation onto my hand (it is quite a runny consistency) and stippled the product onto my brush. Once I applied it to my face I noticed that I had applied a little too much. As the foundation is quite runny, you don't need to apply a lot of it. It is also quite pigmented which means that the foundation does not look thin or act as a low coverage.

As stated, Estée Lauder Double Wear is a buildable/medium covergae foundation. It definitely lasts all day, the longest I would say that I have worn it would be 11 hours and it definitely still looked perfect apart from slight oily spots around my t-zone which were considerably reduced compared to other foundations I had ever used! The finish of the foundation is a mixed, at least in my experience. I find that it looks quite powdery in places whilst also catching the light and looking dewy in others. I have not noticed it clinging to any dry patches on the face and find that it covers all redness and minor scars very nicely! I rarely have to apply any setting powder too as little is needed, if any!

I am now obsessed with this foundation. It does not budge, transfer or look oily and it comes in an astonashing 31 shades! It is so comparable to my holy grail, Revlon Colorstay yet it is quickly becoming my number 1!
