Bright Summer Makeup Look and Current Beauty Favourites

Whip out that long lasting foundation, artistic makeup skills at the ready... It's summer! I love to incorporate pops of colour, what a way to spice up your look for these stunningly bright months!

For todays post, I share my new technique for adding more colour to my face. This is a heavier makeup look, for sure, but it looks gorgeous! Typically, I would add hints of colour to my face by using lovely bright shades of liner or shadow, below or above the lash line but I think that this is my new favourite! While I am writing this, it's also the perfect time for me to share these gorgeous products with you. All of which have become staples in my summer beauty collection.

So to start off, let's lay down our base; skincare, foundation, blush and then, we will get to work on the eyes. The reason I like to do my face first is because I love how the foundation and powder, applied to the eye area, help to keep my look in place, all day.

After cleansing and toning, my favourite cream, at the moment, is this beauty from La Roche-Posay. The Hydraphase Intense Cream is perfect... There are no other words! I feel so confident in this product, knowing that I am protected further, thanks to the added SPF 20 protection. It's also great at keeping my skin looking hydrated which is a vital for that sought-after glow.
To the eyes! For some reason, I decided to create this darker eye look, knowing that I would be applying a bright lip. Usually, I would go for the"less is more" approach, adding a hint of bronze, or even a neutral shade, through the crease to add more depth to my look. However, I am so happy that I ventured outside of my usual comfort zone! To achieve this look, my trusty By Terry Stylo Blackstar eyeshadow stick in "Midnight Ombe" is the star of the show... How beautiful is this? I can't even describe how much I love this product! It's super easy to complete this step Beauts, just apply this product directly to the eye, concentrating on the outer edges, only. I then smudged this out using my ring finger, adding another layer on-top. To deepen this up, I took a tiny dip into a matte black eyeshadow shade (any will do) using this to blend out the edges. I love how this works because the two shades just mix together beautifully leaving this smokey, deep navy look!

To deepen this look even further, take the eyeshadow stick again and apply to the lower lash line, adding a touch of black liner to the outer edges and blending until it looks beautiful! Finish this look off with my new favourite mascara Respectissime Extension (coating both the top and bottom lashes) from La Roche-Posay... This mascara is the one guys! Look at how teeny the wand is! Yet the results are outstanding... Look at those lashes!

Finally, that pop of colour we have all been longing for... This little gem is from Stila and is in the most beautiful shade of pink called "Bella". I would like to think that I own a large quantity of pink lip products but I have never come across anything like this one... How beautiful is this? I feel that it really does compliment my skin tone so will be great for us all now that we are rocking that summer tan! It also makes the teeth look whiter... You can't go wrong with that now, can you?!

Let me know how you like to incorporate colour into your summer makeup routine below Beauts... I would love to learn some new tips and tricks! Also, let me know what your favourite products are right now. I will have my list ready...
